Marine Services Company Limited is a Tanzanian company that operates ferries, cargo ships and tankers on Lake Victoria, Lake Tanganyika and Lake Malawi.[1] MSC was the Marine Division of the Tanzania Railways Corporation until 1997.[1] The company's head office is at the former TRC building in Mwanza on Lake Victoria. It has branch offices in Kigoma on Lake Tanganyika and Kyela on Lake Malawi.[3]

Fleet

MSC's most numerous fleet is on Lake Victoria.[1] It includes the ferry and former Royal Mail Ship MV Victoria,[4] train ferry MV Umoja[5] and cargo and passenger ship MV Serengeti.[6]

MSC's fleet on Lake Tanganyika includes the ferries MV Liemba[7] (formerly the Imperial German Navy's SMS Graf von Goetzen) and MV Mwongozo.[8]

MSC's ferry on Lake Malawi is East African Railways and Harbours Corporation: white hull above the waterline, white superstructure and buff funnel.[1] The hull below the waterline appears to be dark red.[1]
