Plot
You are a Marine Sharpshooter, a member of an elite American military force waging a silent war against terror across the globe. Dropped behind enemy lines, you must uncover and dismantle an elaborate terrorist plot to launch a series of coordinated attacks around the world. Your mission will take you from hidden outposts in desert cities to full scale military bases. Make every shot count, your country and the free world is depending on you. "Remember your mantra: One shot, one kill." [1]
Gameplay
Marine Sharpshooter's gameplay involves sniping targets. The environment differs from mission to mission. The game also has multiple guns, and ammo to choose from. The realistic elements of Marine Sharpshooter are part of its appeal. For example, you don’t have an endless supply of bullets in your gun requiring you to reload with a fresh magazine should you run out. Your opening shot should be a considered choice, because once you start firing, the enemy may start shooting back. Once that happens you’ll need to finish off all the enemies on that level before they successfully gun you down. There's a points system. The better the shot, the higher the points scored. However, if your shot misses you’ll lose points so you must be accurate, especially if you’re going for the tricky head shot, graphically portrayed. The graphics on this game are superb. As you view the enemy through your scope, you could easily be playing on your PC or Xbox 360. The aiming controls can be a little tricky to grasp as they use the iPad’s tilt function. That said, the game is deliberately difficult and this only adds to the fun. There are multiple missions to undertake following interesting story lines. It’s important to select the correct rifle and the correct vantage point for each mission, as your choices will determine the accuracy of your shots and the probability of enemy detection.[2]
