Marijo Moore

Marijo Moore is a writer with mixed Cherokee/Dutch/Irish ancestry, who frequently draws on her Native American roots in her poetry. Among other awards, she was given the title of Writer of the Year (2002) by the Wordcraft Circle of Native Writers and Storytellers, one of the most prestigious awards in the Native American literary world.

Moore currently serves as Poetry Editor for Rapid River Arts and Literature Journal and manages rENEGADE pLANETS pUBLISHING, a Native American specialist press. She has edited several specialist collections of work, including Eating Fire, Tasting Blood: Breaking the Great Silence of the American Indian Holocaust (2005) and Genocide of the Mind: New Writings by Native Americans (2002).
