Marie Claire Fisher (9 June 1931 – 17 August 2008) was an Australian politician. She was a Labor member of the New South Wales Legislative Council from 1978 to 1988.
Born in Sydney, Fisher was educated at Darlinghurst Public School, Crown Street High School, Sydney Girls High School, Sydney Teachers College and finally the University of New South Wales, graduating in 1969 to become a schoolteacher. A member of the Australian Labor Party since 1968, she taught at Bourke High School from 1970 to 1971 and was active in Labor politics in the far west of New South Wales. She married Dugald George Hamilton, with whom she had three children.[1]
In 1978, Fisher was elected to the New South Wales Legislative Council as a Labor member. She served until 1988. She died in 2008 at Lismore.[1]
