Margaret B. Seymour

Margaret B. Seymour (born 1947) is a United States federal judge.

Born in Washington, D.C., Seymour received a B.A. from Howard University in 1969 and a J.D. from American University, Washington College of Law in 1977. She was an Equal opportunity specialist, U.S. Department of Health, Education & Welfare from 1972 to 1979. She was an Equal opportunity specialist, U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission from 1979 to 1980. She was an Attorney, Office of Civil Rights, U.S. Department of Education from 1980 to 1988. She was a Private practice from 1988 to 1990. She was an assistant U.S. Attorney of the District of South Carolina from 1990 to 1996. She was a U.S. Attorney (interim) for the District of South Carolina, 1993 in 1996.

Seymour is a federal judge on the United States District Court for the District of South Carolina. Seymour was nominated by President Bill Clinton on September 9, 1998, to a seat vacated by William B. Traxler. She was confirmed by the United States Senate on October 21, 1998, and received commission on October 22, 1998.
