Ice hockey World Junior Championships Silver 2011 Canada Marcus Foligno (born August 10, 1991) is a Canadian-American professional ice hockey player, who currently plays for the Rochester Americans of the American Hockey League (AHL). He was selected 104th overall by the Buffalo Sabres in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft.

Personal
Foligno was born in Buffalo, New York, the son of former NHL star and Sabre Mike Foligno and Janis Foligno. Janis passed away in 2009 from cancer.[1] Although Marcus was born in the United States, both of his parents are Canadian, making him a dual citizen. Marcus is the younger brother of current Ottawa Senator Nick Foligno. He also has 2 sisters named Lisa and Cara. Cara is a teacher in Buffalo, and Lisa is a lacrosse player in Buffalo. Marcus grew up in the mining community of Sudbury and played for the Sudbury Wolves during his junior career. He moved there when he was 11 years old.[2]
Professional career
Foligno agreed to terms on an entry-level professional contract with the Buffalo Sabres on May 25, 2011. He will begin play with the Rochester Americans in the 2011–12 AHL season.[3][4][5]
