(1995–present)Marc John Jefferies (born May 16, 1990) is an American television and film actor. He is perhaps best known for his roles as Derrick Mitchell on the NBC sitcom The Tracy Morgan Show, and as Darius on Treme, the HBO drama series set in post-Katrina New Orleans.
Career
Jefferies debuted as the title character "Isaiah", in the 1995 drama, Losing Isaiah as a toddler. He was also featured in a commercial for PeoplePC. In 2005, he portrayed a young Curtis '50 Cent' Jackson in Get Rich or Die Tryin,'.
He was in many popular films when he was younger, these included The Haunted Mansion, Stuart Little 2, Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle and Spider-Man 2. He's was Young Dre in "Brown Sugar". He also did voiceovers in the films Finding Nemo and Monsters Inc. He also played Derrick on the NBC sitcom The Tracy Morgan Show.
He recently portrayed the rapper Lil' Cease in the 2009 movie, Notorious. He also guest stars on T.V. Series Dexter Season 3 as Wendell, a drug dealer's doorman. Jeffries is now looking to have more main character roles in films, according to several magazines. Rapper "The Game" is to make a biographical film with the interest of casting Jefferies.
Currently, he appears as Darius on Treme, the HBO drama series set in post-Katrina New Orleans.
Personal life
His sister LaShawn Tináh Jefferies is an actress and has appeared in many TV series which including Law & Order: Criminal Intent and Whitepaddy. She was also a voice over in the television series The Backyardigans. He also has a little brother, Marc Arthur Jefferies, now Twelve.
He also has his own photography studio which is run by his dad who is a photographer.
