Map-centric

Map-centric

Map-centric is a term used to describe an asset management or Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) applications ability to only pull the GIS location data from a GIS geodatabase creating the need for data duplication and requiring synchronization routines to maintain data integrity. This application approach does not fully leverage the GIS geodatabase and the additional analytical tools available.
