Manuel Azpiroz

Manuel Aspiroz (born June 9, 1836 in Puebla, Puebla - died March 24, 1905 in Washington D.C., United States) was a Mexican lawyer. Aspiroz fought with the Mexican Army in the Battle of Puebla on May 5, 1862. He later participated in the war council that condemned and executed Emperor Maximillian, Miguel Miramón and Tomás Mejía, after capture by the Liberals, in 1867. He also served as Mexican consul in San Francisco, California and Mexican ambassador in the United States.^[1] His remains were interred at the Panteón de Dolores in Mexico City, in the Rotunda of Illustrious Persons on April 24, 1905.
