Mandur, Guntur

Mandur is a village in the Guntur district of Andhra Pradesh, India. It is located 35 kilometres (22 mi) from Vijayawada and 30 kilometres (19 mi) from Guntur. Tenali is the main town near Mandur village.

Temples and attractions

Mandur is home of the Mandaleswara Swamy Temple, which was built in 1890 to honour Lord Shiva. The village temple god is Jatllamma. The village is close to Bhattiprolu, where there is a stupa of Gautama Buddha. Other nearby places to visit include Amaravati, Mangalagiri Panakala Swamy Temple, and Vaikuntapuram Venkateswaraswamy Temple.

Agriculture

The main crops are rice, chick peas, and corn. Sugar cane, black beans, and jute are also cultivated.

Transport

The village is a 45-minute bus ride from Gannavaram airport and a 30-minute bus or train ride from Guntur.

Educational institutions

ZPPH high school and elementary school are located in Mandur. The high school has 300 students from Mandur, Alapadu, and KV Palem. The annual day of this school is generally celebrated in the month of November.
