Gannavaram

Gannavaram ( గన్నవరం)is a town and a Mandal headquarter located in krishna district of Andhra Pradesh, India, twenty kilometers from the city of Vijayawada on National Highway number 5 connecting Chennai to Kolkata. It is famous for its Airport, and Weather reporting station.

Gannavaram Airport is a mid sized domestic airport,longest runway is 6,000 feet in length, at an elevation of 82 feet, serving Vijayawada.Currently flights run thrice a day from here to Hyderabad , Chennai and Bangalore . Due to increase in air traffic to this region Airport Authority of India recently decided to develop, make infrastructural changes to this air port.
