Maltese Youth League Section A 2008–09

The Maltese Youth League Section A 2008–09, the highest tier for U19's football, started on October 2, 2008 and is scheduled to end in May.The two lowest finishing teams will be relegated to Youth League Section B. In the previous season Mosta U19's and Hamrun U19's were relegated. Balzan U19's and Mgarr U19's were promoted from Section B. Mgarr United U19's have been promoted for 3 years straight. In the 2005–06 season they were playing in Section D.This is also the first time Mgarr U19's has participated in Section A. They started strongly beating eventual champions Hibernians U19's 2–1, a 0–0 draw with San Gwann U19's and a 3–2 win against Birkirkara U19's. Hibernians U19's finished the league as champions, with Valletta U19's finishing runners-up. Balzan U19's and Lija U19's were relegated to Section B. Lija U19's finished the season without a single point, losing each and every game.

  • Mosta U19's and Hamrun U19's were relegated to Section B.They were replaced with Balzan U19's and Mgarr U19's,champions of Section B and runner-up respectively.
