2006-Present Maine Moose

The Maine Moose are a Junior "A" ice hockey.[1] They are a member of the International Junior Hockey League and play in the New England Division of IJHL's Super Elite League with a Jr. B team in the IJHL's Elite League.[2][3][4] The team plays at the 1,000-seat Kennebec Ice Arena in Hallowell, Maine.[5]

In 2010, the Maine Moose fielded U-16 and U-18 Midget teams to compete in the Maine Amateur Hockey Association's Midget leagues. The U-18 team was young with players who could have qualified to play U-16. Coached by Jeff Ross, the team struggled to compete in the very competitive U-18 MEAHA league.

The U-16 team, coached by Dave Leach, finished with a 15-8-1 record and lost in the state championship to the Portland Junior Pirates, who will go on to the USA Hockey U-16 National Tournament. The U-16 team, also very young with 4 14 year old players, peaked in the playoffs and went into the final game the number 1 seed. http://moosemainea.com/player_roster.php?team_id=175912
