Mahendra Bohra (born Santosh Bohra, 3 July 1946) is an Indian producer / Director / Writer. Mahendra Bohra is from a family of Hindu marwari origin, the eldest son of actor / producer and filmmaker Ramkumar Bohra and Madan Kumari Bohra. His son is actor Karanvir Bohra.

Biography

Mahendra Bohra started his film career as an actor in the film Puraskar in the year 1969, starring Joy Mukherjee, IS Johar and Farida Jalal. The movie was a box office success, but Mahendra Bohra's keen interest in film making made him a successful producer. He started assisting his father Ramkumar Bohra in his home production Bohra Bros's Bijlee in the year 1971, starring Dheeraj Kumar, Snehlata and Jr Mehmood. Seeing the changing tides of the Gujarathi film industry Mahendra started a regional film division called Bohra International, which made hits like shetal ne kanthe, Kadu Makrani, Jai Khodiar Maa, Bhagwan Shri Krishna. Mahendra Bohra made his first Hindi film Teja with Sanjay Dutt, Kimi Katkar and Amrish Puri which was a big hit, he made his next film Takkar with Suneil Shetty and Sonali Bendre.
