The Maharashtra Express or महाराष्ट्र एक्स्प्रेस in Marathi, is an Indian express train that travels to-and-from Gondia (east end of Maharashtra state) and Kolhapur (south end of Maharashtra) connecting various cities during its journey. It is a daily means of transport for thousands of passengers.

Schedule
The Maharashtra express departs daily from Gondia Junction (G) at 08:20 IST and reaches Kolhapur (KOP), at 12:45 (+1day) IST on the following day. It departs from Kolhapur at 15:30 IST and reaches Gondia at 20:15 (+1 day) IST on the following day. Arrival times are generally delayed from a few minutes to a few hours. The train number is 11040 (Up) while travelling from Gondia to Kolhapur, and 11039 (Down) for the return journey. The train covers a distance of 1346 km during its journey.

And in the reverse order during its return journey from Kolhapur to Gondia.
Incidents
The train often is considered as a slow type of train with several delays and lack of punctuality for designated times.
