Magda Bogin (born April 26, 1950) is an American translator and novelist. She is noted for her translations of Spanish poetry.[1] Bogin was born in New York City. She attended Sarah Laurence College where she earned her B.A. in 1972. She earned her M.A. from the City College of the City University of New York in 1984. Bogin is a member of PEN and ALTA. The English version of The House of The Spirits is her piece of translation. She is currently, (2011), running a writers' retreat in Tepoztlán, Mexico[2].
