The American Literary Translators Association (ALTA) is an association of literary translators in the United States.
ALTA is affiliated with the International Federation of Translators (FIT).
History
ALTA was founded in 1978.
Among other activities, ALTA has instituted the National Translation Award, which is presented yearly to an outstanding translation of literature into English published in the United States by an American publisher in the previous year.
