Jeremiah Ani (February 12, 1985(1985-02-12) in Kaduna[1]) is a Nigerian international footballer who is currently playing for Sliema Wanderers FC.

Career

He signed a pro contract in 2000 with Adamawa United fc,In 2002 he moved to Malta and signed for Naxxar Lions he scored 18 goals in 16 league games that year and was so the top scorer of the first league. He was then attracting interests from top clubs in Malta such as Valletta F.C., Sliema Wanderers F.C. and clubs from Cyprus. He then signed for Valletta F.C.,[2]After leaving Valletta fc,he joined Alitihad Kalba in Dubai (U.A.E) on a 6months deal. He moved back to Malta and joined Kercem Ajax F.C. he scored 18 goals to win the top scorer that year. he then attracted the interests of some clubs in Italy, Portugal and Russia. He is a power forward who has been compared to Drogba, with his style of play. He played for Estrela da Amadora,when they were in super league, in Portugal; but due to the Heavy Financial Problems the Club had at that time, he requested a loan move to Gondomar S.C. of Porto.[3] He also played for ROPs, He was signed at the end of the Season from Sichuan Guancheng F.C. in China. After trials with Plymouth Argyle and Notts County, with Notts unable to agree a deal to sign the forward, Ani signed with Rotherham United, to start his first spell in English football. He made his debut for the Millers in their 1-0 win over Lincoln City in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy on the 31st August 2010.

International career

He featured for The U-17 junior national team of Nigeria back in year 2000. Ani was involved in the build up to the 2008 Olympic games for Nigeria U-23 National Side,as he was regularly called up to the national side by then Samson Siasia Who was the Head Coach.[4] He featured for the Nigerian Olympic squad in 2007-2008.He was also part of the Nigerian U-23 team that won the Intercontinental Cup in Malaysia in 2008.
