It lies on the right bank of the river Paka to the northwest of Šmartno. Traditionally the area was part of the Styria region. The municipality is now included in the Savinja statistical region.[2]
The local church is dedicated to Saint John the Baptist and belongs to the Šmartno parish. It is a medieval church that was greatly rebuilt in the 18th century.[3]
