Traditionally the area was part of the Lower Styria region. It is now included with the rest of the municipality into the Zasavje statistical region.[2]
The local church is dedicated to Saint George (Slovene: Sveti Jurij) and belongs to the Hrastnik parish. It dates to the early 16th century.[3]
