The Rt Rev Gordon Leslie Tindall was the 8th Bishop of Grahamstown.[1] He was born in 1910 and educated at Hatfield College, Durham.[2] Ordained in 1936,[3] his first post was a curacy in Swinton.[disambiguation needed ] He then emigrated to Africa to become a missionary priest. From 1939 he was Rector of Vryburg, then Director of the South Bechuanaland Mission. Later he was Archdeacon of King William's Town, then Director of religious education in Grahamstown before his elevation to the Episcopate. He died on 24 June 1969.[4]
