Tennis career
Lajović reached his highest individual ranking on the ATP Tour on October 31, 2011, when he became World number 180. For a long time, he primarily played on the Futures circuit and the Challenger circuit. However, after beating Matwé Middelkoop of the Netherlands, Denys Molchanov of the Ukraine and 1st seeded Denis Istomin of Uzbekistan in the qualifying stage of the 2011 Kremlin Cup, this changed. Unfortunatel, he lost to 5th seeded Alex Bogomolov Jr. of the United States in a tight three-setter in the first round of the main draw. Again, in the qualifying stage for the 2011 St. Petersburg Open, he beat Mischa Zverev of Germany, Marsel Ilhan of Turkey and Alexander Bury of Belarus to qualify to the main draw, where he beat Jeremy Chardy of France and Dudi Sela of Israel to reach the quarter finals, but lost to 7th seeded Alex Bogomolov Jr. now in straight sets.
