Dustin Bell

Dustin D. Bell is an American football player. He formerly played as a cornerback for UTEP Miners at University of Texas at El Paso. Head coach Mike Price at one time said that as an Wideout that Dustin Bell would play a big role for UTEP. Bell was considered coming out of Bakersfield CC as a top Shutdown Corners in JC. He also played a big role with the Indoor Football League.

Early life

Bell attended Wilmer-Hutchins High School in Dallas, Texas, where he played football, basketball and baseball. He was All-District in all three sports. As a Quarterback his Sophomore year he led the eagles to the second round in the playoffs where the loss a thriller against the Rusk Eagles. When he was a Senior at Hutch he led the Eagles to the third round in the playoffs. He had record-setting QB statistics; 1770 yards with 27 touchdowns. The Dallas Morning News Area Top 100 list and Named a Sleeper in The Dave Campbell Texas Football book. He was MVP his Senior year. He was a three star athlete excelling in Basketball and in Baseball.

College career

He enrolled at UTEP as a Multidisciplinary Studies major. He red-shirted as a freshman in 2005 season. He was recruited as a Wide Receiver. He was considered a contender for starting position his redshirt freshman season. He stumble and ended up playing the next two season at Bakersfield Junior College, where he played Cornerback and was considered a Shutdown corner by many oposing teams. He would face the top receivers in California week after week. He compiled 70 tackles and 10 interceptions in two years at Bakersfield.

IFL Bell played a big part in the Tri cities Fever making it to the United Bowl. In the two prior games to the United Bowl Bell intercepted a game scoring ball. In the opposing teams end zone.
