The club takes their name from the Gaelic name for Edinburgh, Dúnedin and from the Irish political revolutionary James Connolly who was born in the city.

History
Dunedin Connolly's was founded in 1988. Napier University and Edinburgh University gaelic football teams act as feeder clubs for Connolly’s with most of their players coming through the ranks of these university teams. Connolly’s have played at the ground of Portobello RFC since 1998. In the same year a ladies team was also formed[1].
Honours
Dunedin Connolly’s have won a total of 5 Scottish Championship Titles and have competed in 7 finals in a row since 2001. The latest Championship Victory came in 2007.
