Cast

Production

The filmmakers categorically state that Drapchi is a film without visual violence and does not attempt to make a political statement of any sort. The focus of the story is the personal journey of Yiga,a Tibetan singer who escapes confinement ,travels to the West and finds resonance in her cultural and spiritual identity,by unlocking mysteries of a turbulent past. However, the film does have an underlying current of strong human emotion and intense drama. The film's title derives it's metaphor from the notorious Drapchi prison situated in the outskirts of Lhasa, Tibet.
