A. Wade Boykin

A. Wade Boykin is an American psychology professor known for his work in the field of education.

Boykin is Director of the Developmental Psychology Graduate Program at Howard University, where he is director of the Center for Research on the Education of Students Placed At Risk (CRESPAR). This collaborative effort between Howard and Johns Hopkins University is funded by the Office of Educational Research and Improvement (OERI) in the United States Department of Education.

Boykin has developed methods to improve Black academic performance by enhancing existing motivational tendencies of African-American children. He is the co-author of "Research Directions of Black Psychologists."

In 1995, Boykin was part of an 11-member American Psychological Association task force led by Ulric Neisser which published "," a report written in response to "The Bell Curve".
