The L. Douglas Wilder School of Government and Public Affairs is one of the schools at the Virginia Commonwealth University. It was established to bring together faculty members from multiple disciplines who shared an interest in public affairs. The school is named in honor of Douglas Wilder, the first African American to be elected as governor of Virginia, and the second to serve as governor of a U.S. state.
