He was born in Fredericton, New Brunswick, becoming a barrister and lawyer in his career.
He was first elected at the Davenport riding in the 1957 general election defeating Paul Hellyer. Morton was re-elected for a second term at Davenport in the 1958 election, but defeated in the 1962 election by Walter L. Gordon.[1]
Morton was also unsuccessful in the 1963 federal election at the York—Humber against riding incumbent Ralph Cowan.
