Donald Upton, Jr.

Donald Upton, Jr. is the founder and president of Fairfield Index, Inc.,[1] a global economic development and public affairs firm based in Tampa, Florida. Upton is the son of broadcaster and songwriter Donald Niles Upton and former Miss Universe and model Miriam Stevenson. His great, great grandfather is the Irish nationalist writer William Cleary Upton.

Upton was born in Columbia, South Carolina in 1959 and graduated from the University of South Carolina (BA) and its School of Law (1985). He spent much of his career in telecommunications, notably with Contel Corporation and GTE. Upton founded the company called Fairfield Index, Inc. on September 11, 2001.[when?].

He is noted for work across the Sunbelt and the US in regionalism and cross-jurisdictional collaboration.
