Donald Reid (politician born 1855)

Donald Reid (1855–1920) was an independent conservative Member of Parliament in New Zealand.

Early life

Reid was born in the Dunedin suburb of Caversham in 1855. His parents were Donald Reid and Frances Reid (née Barr).[1][2]

Political career

He represented the Taieri electorate from 1902 to 1908, when he retired.[3]

Family

On 31 July 1878, Reid's business partner Thomas Fergus married his daughter Margaret MacGregor Reid. The marriage was conducted at Reid's residence Salisbury[4] in North Tairi.[5]
