KDKA-TVDon Cannon (birth name Donald Clark) was a prominent television news anchor in Pittsburgh.
He worked at WTAE-TV from 1969-94. During that time, he became a "fixture of Pittsburgh broadcasting," and was partner with Paul Long and meteorologist Joe DeNardo.[1] Later, he was teamed with Sally Wiggin.[1] In 1999, he returned to Pittsburgh and worked for KDKA-TV. He left that position in 2007.[2] In 2006, he was the subject of a faux-news article in the parody newspaper The Onion, which said that he had accidentally revealed his salary on-air.[3]
He had well-publicized battles with alcoholism and depression.[4] In 2009, he was arrested in California for failure to report for sentencing in two separate cases of driving under the influence dating back to 2007.[2][5]
