Dominican College is an educational institution situated within the municipality of the City of Santa Rosa. It is providing Preparatory, Elementary, Secondary and Collegiate Education to students which centers on their Spiritual and Academic Growth.

With the Virtues set upon by our patron Saint Dominic, we aim to instill holistic and spiritual formation in them and be a model citizen of today's Society.

History

Moved by the Spirit of St. Dominic's love for a quest for Truth and emblazoned to evangelized this truth, the Sisters of the Congregation of the Religious missionaries of St. Dominic, encompassing, set out to carry on this task at the picturesque suburban area of Balibago, City of Sta. Rosa, Laguna. The cornerstone laying on the eight of September 1993 at the five-hectare piece of land by Rev. Vicar of the Holy Rosary Province, Bonifacio Solis, O.P., crystallized their dream to move on.

Amidst certain constraint, but undaunted, nevertheless piece by piece, the first three-story building was constructed in 1994 of the envisioned nine multi-level building to occupy the land area, is now a recognized landmark in Sta. Rosa, Laguna. The building houses the Pre-School and Grade School Department, with eight rooms per floor complete with educational facilities, stand as a monument ot the Congregation's zeal to herald the good news of salvation.

The Phenomenal growth of enrollment necessitates the construction of new buildings and conversely, radical changes in forms and structures in educational milieu were made. All these were guided by a coherent with the crystal clear vision-mission of the Dominican College of Sta. Rosa.

In 1996, the three-storey San Lorenzo Ruiz Building which houses formely the College Department and is now being occupied by the High School Department was constructed. The advent of new technology, especially in the computer and information highway, posed another great challenge to the Dominican College - Santa Rosa. Thus, on the onset of the 21 century, a separate Computer Laboratory Center was established with access to the Internet for the use of all students, faculty and staff. The center is designed to prepare them for the world of technological changes and to update them with the recent scientific breakthroughs. Likewise, a college library, as the heart of the educative process, is found in the 2nd floor. Library collections consist of print and non print media aimed at supplementing both research and instruction.

In 2001, the Veritas Sports Complex was constructed with more than five hundred seating capacity, complete state-of-the-art sound system, with shower and dressing room. It provides the ideal venue of physical and sports development. It also serves as a venue for other extra and co-curricular activities of the school.

The following year, on its mezzaine floor, the Audio Visual Room (AVR) was constructed. It is designed for the students' theatrical/stage presentations, productions of their own documentaries, radio production, plays, newspaper, animation, graphics, pictures, commercials, and other AV productions. It also serves as a venue for Faculty Development Programs such as seminars and/or recollection. Simultaneous with the construction of the AVR, the Convent was also undertaken. Located near the Veritas Sports Complex and the High School Building, it serves as the home of the Dominican Sisters.

In January 2002, among the multifarious learning facilites made was the Science and Allied Health Laboratory Center located adjacent to the St. Rose de Lima Building. Located in this building are the College Department, Directress' Office, the Treasurer's Office, the Registrar's Office, the Guidance Office and the MIS. The Center is equipped with complete science laboratory equipment and apparatus for hands-on wet and dry experiments and activities designed to complement the theoretical classroom science instruction. The state-of-the-art computer networking capabilities of the school provides ready online computers and allows students to access the Internet. Likewise, the Nursing Laboratory is complete with comprehensive facilities necessary for the development of skills and dexterity fo Nursing students are found in this center.

In response to the demands and challenges of the times, the Dominican College - Santa Rosa (DCSR) continuously widens its horizon through relevant, innovative, integrative quality curricular offering to include the Science Enriched, Technology Based Curriculum for the High School Department and the Bachelor of Science in Nursing. All there are meant to make all courses, programs and degrees globally competitive but locally responsive. The spirirt of academic excellence and leadership is supported by the various facilities and amenitites being offered by DCSR, all aimed to provide ideal environment for disciplined study, fruitful interactions and prayerful reflection.

In the same year, steadfast with its conviction for future growth and development, the Dominican College - Santa Rosa acquired a one - hectare prime lot adjacent ot the main gate of the school. It envisions to house the Nursing Home and prime restaurant which will serve as an actual laboratory for the Nursing and HRM students, respectively. Latter part of 2005, the HRM laboratory was constructed just behind the College building. Highly equipped with modern day apparatus needed for the training of the HRM students. The facilities include a kitchen, a receiving room, dining room, bedrooms and bathrooms which were furnished to the likings of a hotel suite. To date, a Multipurpose hall has been completed adjacent to the Veritas Sports Complex.

The Dominican College-Santa Rosa now with its fully spread wings joins other educational institiutions to assist in providing the nation citizenry a holistic development scheme with religion at its core. It foresees graduates who are Christ centered, lovers of the Mother of God. defenders of Truth and responsible citizen of the Philippines and of the World equipped with competencies and skills.

The future is glimpsed by the Dominican sisters with an optimistic eye. The rest will be part of history.
