Dolores Sutton (February 4, 1927 — May 11, 2009) was an American actress, writer and playwright. Born in New York City as Dolores Lila Silverstein to Benjamin and Mary Silverstein, she graduated from New York University in 1948 with a B.A. in Philosophy. Her career spanned seven decades and encompassed television, stage and movie roles.

Writing
While working on her M.A. degree, Sutton wrote a radio script (Siblings), sold it to NBC, and landed the voice role. This started her career as an actress and writer. She was also a playwright.[citation needed]
Acting Television
Her first television appearance came on the Jack Benny Program (1950) playing golf as an elderly lady in a gag scene. When Benny asked how old she was, she wobbled off with her cane and said, "39 just like you". She was known on daytime television with featured roles on Valiant Lady as Diane Emerson Soames (1954-55), Date with Life (1955), and From These Roots as Luisa Corelli (1959-60). She also had recurring roles on more recent soap operas such as As the World Turns, The Edge of Night, Ryan's Hope, All My Children and General Hospital.
She appeared in such films as Nine Miles to Noon, The Trouble with Angels (and its sequel, Where Angels Go, Trouble Follows), Crimes and Misdemeanors, Tales from the Darkside: The Movie and Crossing Delancey.

Sutton played lead roles in three Broadway plays.

Death
Dolores Sutton died of cancer on May 11, 2009 at the Actor's Home in Englewood, New Jersey, aged 82.
