Doddakallahalli, Malur

Doddakalahalli (Kannada: ದೊಡ್ಡಕಲ್ಲಹಳ್ಳಿ) is a village in Malur taluk, Kolar district, Karnataka, India. It is part of the Rajenahalli Gram panchayat. The name of the village is derived from the rocky landscape -"Dodda " meaning bigger kallu meaning stone and "Halli" meaning village. The population of the village is 925.[1]Doddakallahalli is distinguished from ChikkaKallahalli from its more rockier landscape. Dodda means Bigger;Chikka means 'smaller' in kannada language.Chikkakallahalli is a nearby village with a less rockier landscape. Doddakallahalli and Chikkakallahalli can be considered as sister villages due to their close proximity but the origin of their names can be attributed to the apparent rockiness of the landscape(official maps are proof of this).
