Hamit Ðogaj (Albanian: Hamit Gjogaj, Serbian: Хамит Ђогај; born on 1 july 1960 in Belgrade, SFR Yugoslavia), most known as Đorđe Đogani (Ђорђе Ђогани) is a singer from Serbia of Ashkali ethnicity an albanian speaking minorty in ex-Yugoslavia.[1] Together with his wife Vesna Trivić he forms the folk-pop and dance duo Đogani.

Biography

Đorđe Ðogani was born in Belgrade. He grew up in the urban neighborhood of Mirijevo[2], together with four brothers and four sisters. An active sportsman in his youth, Ðole was member of AK Crvena Zvezda (Red Star Track & Field Club) from 1976 to 1985, even representing SFR Yugoslavia internationally.

Later he changed his name to Đorđe, according to his nickname derived from his surname, "Đole". At the same time, he also changed his last name from Ðogaj to Ðogani.

His three younger brothers also had successful careers in the music business, leading the dance-oriented bands like Funky G, B3 and Trik FX.
