Henning & Henning, 1984[1]The Wakkerstroom Widow (Dingana alaedeus) is a butterfly of the Nymphalidae family. It is only known from high altitude grassland in the southern part of the Mpumalanga province and from KwaZulu-Natal.
The wingspan is 51–55 mm for males and 50–54 mm for females. Adults are on wing from mid October to December (with a peak in November or December). There is one generation per year[2]
The larvae probably feed on various Poaceae species. Larvae have been reared on Pennisetum clandestinum.
