The modern artwork displayed beside each of the
escalator s to the train platforms was installed circa 1990 and consists of painted aluminum shapes that are the result of what the artist, Richard Gubernick, called "high-class doodling". According to Gubernick, who also has artwork displayed in LaSalle Station inBuffalo, New York , reports:"A lot of people ask me, does it move? Does it move? well, it looks like it does, but it doesn't....If you move it, you bought it." [
