The University of Arkansas at Little Rock (UALR or Arkansas-Little Rock) is a metropolitan university with a student population of 13,000 full and part-timestudents , and has a large number of non-traditional (e.g., part-time and commuting) students. Because of the school's location in the state capital and county seat, Arkansas-Little Rock students may benefit from close contact with leaders ingovernment , business, industry, medicine- (University of Arkansas for Medical Science), and information technology.Located on convert|150|acre|km2 in urban and Arkansas' largest city of Little Rock, UALR resides in over forty buildings, including a university library which contains 410,000 volumes, 700,000 microform items, 8,300 audiovisual forms and CDs, and subscribes to 2,625 periodicals; special learning facilities that include a learning resource center, art galleries,

Athletics
The "UALR Trojans" is the name by which the athletic teams of the University of Arkansas at Little Rock or the University of Arkansas in Greater Little Rock are known. The Trojans are a non-football member of the
Sun Belt Conference .For the 2005-2006 basketball season, the Trojans moved into the $25 million
Jack Stephens Center . This new facility almost doubled theseating capacity of the old UALR gym, with 5,800 seats and convert|149000|sqft|m2 of space.Notable graduates
