Dennis Goodwin (birth registered October→December 1929 in Barrow-in-Furness, Lancashire[1] — died 12 April 2011 (aged 81–82) in Barrow-in-Furness, Cumbria) was an English professional rugby league footballer of the 1950s and '60s who at representative level played for Great Britain, and England, and at club level for Barrow, Leeds, and York, playing at Prop, or Second-row, i.e. number 8 or 10, or, 11 or 12, during the era of contested scrums.

International honours

Dennis Goodwin won a cap for England while at Barrow in 1955 against Other Nations, and won caps for Great Britain while at Barrow in 1957 against France (2 matches), in 1958 against France, and New Zealand (2 matches).[2]

Rugby Football League Championship final appearances

Dennis Goodwin played in Leeds' 25-10 victory over Warrington in the 1960-61 Rugby Football League Championship final at Odsal Stadium, Bradford on 20 May 1961.

Challenge Cup final appearances

Dennis Goodwin played in Barrow's 0-10 defeat to Wigan in the 1950–51 Challenge Cup final at Wembley Stadium on 5 May 1951, and played Centre, i.e. number 4, and in Barrow's 21-12 victory over Workington Town in the 1954–55 Challenge Cup final at Wembley Stadium on 30 April 1955.
