Delta Dental of Arizona is a member Delta Dental Plans Associations. Delta Dental Plans Association began in the mid-1950s when the International Longshoremen Workers Union on the West Coast negotiated dental benefits for their members' children in Washington, Oregon, California and Hawaii. Today, the Delta Dental system provides dental benefits in every state, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, Guam, and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

Delta Dental of Arizona was incorporated in 1972 and today provides coverage for over 700,000 Arizona residents through 1,200 employers sponsored plans. It is a dental service corporation formed and governed by dentists. It offers both Group and Individual dental and vision plans[1].

Service Provider Network

Arizona network has over 3,000 dentists and serves 750,000 enrollees in the state of Arizona. The Phoenix Business Journal’s 2009 Book of Lists ranked it as the largest dental insurance carrier in the state as of 2009[2].

Products

Delta Dental of Arizona has a network of 3,000 dentists throughout the state of Arizona[3]. Employer plans include: Delta Premier for employer groups of three or more, Voluntary Plan that is 100% employee-paid available to employer groups of three or more and Delta USA for companies in more than one state[4]. They also offer five dental choices for individuals and families[5].
