Early years
Born Eric Dejuan Cunningham, Miller grew up in Metuchen, New Jersey and attended Metuchen High School where he was all-state in 2007 as well as a finalist for the Gatorade Player of the Year Award. He completed high school with over 110 career receptions and over 1,600 yards receiving. He also played on the defensive side of the ball, amassing over 220 career tackles. In one game during his Junior year he had four interceptions. Also in his senior year he amassed 24 tackles in one game. In addition to football, Miller excelled at basketball and track. He lettered in all three sports since his freshman year, for a total of 12 letters during his career. He would become one of only a few athletes at his school to score over 1,300 career points in basketball. In the four years prior to Miller's arrival, the high school basketball team was a combined 16–75. During his four year career, they were 65–35. In track, Miller set school records for the 100-meter, 200-meter and second place in the 400-meter. He placed 2nd in the Group I state championship in the 200M as a Junior and Senior. He also placed 5th in the 200M at the NJ Meet of Champions (which includes the top 6 of each event among all group championships).
College career
Miller was recruited by several top schools with likes of Penn State, Oklahoma State, Florida, Michigan, Boston College, Mississippi and Cincinnati. Miller played in six games during his freshman year and had two receptions with the longest coming in the season opener. In 2009, Miller broke out against Kansas State with a career-best nine receptions for 93 yards and one touchdown. He also had his second best career game against Stanford in the Sun Bowl with 6 catches for 87 yards. In 2010, he played a huge roles against Texas and Cincinnati with 5 catches for 62 yards and 3 catches for 66 yards. He's started 11 games in his career.
Personal life
Miller is the son of Jeremy Miller, the former CEO of the hip hop magazine The Source while his mother, Cornelia is the former general manager of the southern hip hop magazine Down. Born in Oklahoma City, Miller moved to Brooklyn, New York at a young age with his parents. They settled in Metuchen, New Jersey when Miller was eight years old. His younger brother, Dorian, is currently a junior at Metuchen High School.
