Joevanie LopezDeathday Party is a Los Angeles based Experimental Post-punk band, formed in Santa Ana, California in 2008 by brothers Alex Guillen and Giovanni Guillen. Though previous incarnations of the group can be traced back to Santa Ana's Koo's[1] scene, Deathday Party’s first public performance as a duo took place in September 2008 at Los Angeles venue, The Smell. They released their first single, "Pink Noise," soon after and drummer Joevanie Lopez was added to the lineup the following year. In March 2006 the brothers Guillen participated in Glenn Branca’s “Symphony #13 (Hallucination City)” for 100 guitars.[2] Their debut EP, “Ghost Pains”, was self released digitally in October 2010. In early 2011, Desire Records will release an expanded full length version of Ghost Pains.
