Synopsis
The plot centres on the character of straight-laced English policeman Richard Poole (Ben Miller), a detective from the London Metropolitan Police. He is sent to the fictional Caribbean island of Saint Marie to solve the case of the death of a fellow British policeman.[2] After solving the death of his predecessor, he ends up becoming the local police force's new detective.

Poole much to his embarrasment, the wrath of the commissioner and the amusement of his team and with a myriad of suspects an impossible case to solve despite unwanted help from an amatuer slueth. 6 "Series 1 Episode 6" Alfred Lot Robert Thorogood[3] 29 November 2011 When DI Poole is struck down with a mysterious disease, with Camille on holiday in Paris, its down to Dwayne and Fidel to solve the almost impossible murder of a local driver. However can they piece the mystery of his death together? The first episode was popular with the public, achieving just over 6 million viewers, the critics views and the news on whether a second series will be commissioned is still to come.

Series 1 of Death in Paradise is due for release on Monday 26 December 2011. It was published on Amazon on the 1 November 2011 for pre-order at a price of £12.99
