Origins

Diagnosis: Murder began when Dick Van Dyke starred in It Never Entered My Mind, a fourth season episode of Jake and the Fatman. He played a trauma doctor who solved a difficult murder.

TV Movies

A total five TV movies were made, with the first three (Diagnosis of Murder, The House on Sycamore Street and A Twist of the Knife) being produced before the TV series began. The final two movies (A Town Without Pity and Without Warning) were produced in 2002 after the TV series had ended.
