(1998)Dead Soul is the second studio album by Chilean thrash and death metal band Criminal. It was launched in 1997 on Inferno Records and featured production by Vincent Wojnar who had worked with bands like Kreator and connoted Machine Head.
The album was released in Santiago de Chile with a concert where they shared stage with Napalm Death, noting the time Mitch Harris (ND) up to play "Demoniac Possession" Pentagram with Criminal.
The promotional tour included countries such as Argentina, Peru, Uruguay, Venezuela and Colombia, where the band performed at the festival Rock the Park in front of 50 thousand people.[citation needed]
The video clips of the tracks "Collide", "Victimized" and "Slave Masters" were broadcast on major television channels.[citation needed]
Contents
Style
According to the Rock Hard magazine, the album is clearly rooted in Death Metal and reminds of early pieces by Sepultura.[1]
Reception
Dead Soul sold over 10,000 copies in Chile so Metal Blade Records took over the distribution in the United States and Europe, earning very positive reviews in topic magazines such as Rock Hard in Germany[1] and the American Metal Maniacs.[citation needed]
