History
In 1989, Berry Gordy sold Motown Productions to Suzanne de Passe, who renamed it to de Passe Entertainment. As dPE, the company produced such television shows and feature films as Class Act, Sister, Sister, Smart Guy, and Showtime at the Apollo. In 2008, Suzanne de Passe joined with veteran producer Madison Jones to form de Passe Jones Entertainment which is headquartered in Los Angeles, California.
Productions
In 2009, dJE produced PresidentBarack Obama's Commander in Chief's Inaugural Ball. Currently, dJE is producing a number of projects including among others Eliza the Musical, a contemporary re-visioning of the classic story of Pygmalion, by George Bernard Shaw and Becoming K.K. Jones, a television series for Fox. Madison and Suzanne are producing the science-fiction, horror film Humpty Dumpty with Mark Ordesky, Executive Producer of The Lord of the Rings, director David Ellis and special effects supervisor Harvey Lowry.
dJE is also currently producing a film on the life of Dr. Martin Luther King with Steven Spielberg for DreamWorks.
