In 2004 it launched Mobaoku, an auction site exclusive to cell phones, and in 2006 it launched Mobage-town, a highly successful cell phone gaming platform.[2] Mobage-town is currently the largest mobile SNS in Japan, with 11 million members.[3]
In 2010 it bought iPhone games maker ngmoco from founder Neil Young for about $400 millon[4]
On December 8, 2010, the company was raided by Fair Trade Commission with a suspicion of violation of Japan's Anti-Monopoly Act. It was alleged that the company was pressuring game developers not to trade with its competitors.[5]
