The single reached gold and platinum status within months of its release before reaching double platinum status on January 27, 1994 for sales of over 2 million copies, an impressive feat as the single was released through a small independent label called Bellmark Records. "Dazzey Duks" was one of the most popular singles of the year and reached No. 16 on the Billboard Year-End Hot 100 singles of 1993.
