Context
In Flanders, 250,000 children are in one of the Youth Movements. Most have weekly activities organised by local groups of their organisations (Scouts en Gidsen Vlaanderen, Chiro, FOS Open Scouting, klj, KSJ-KSA-VKSJ, JNM,...) This means an estimated 18% of the 5-24 age-group in Flanders.

History
Day of the Youth Movement (or "Dag van de Jeugdbeweging" in Flemish) originated in Flanders (Belgium). The 10th edition (2009) will also take place in Wallonia. During the years, the advertising for the event always paid attention to the different uniforms from the organisations.
