Background
Baziak is rated as the top German heavyweight according to groundandpound.de.[1]
Baziak began his professional career and racked up five consecutive TKO victories.[2] Following this, he was defeated by Hans Stringer via TKO.[2]
Top European promotions
Baziak then appeared for Konfrontacja Sztuk Walki in their under-105kg tournament which was on the undercard of the event headlined by the debuting Mariusz Pudzianowski. Baziak defeated Maxim Grishin via unanimous decision.[3] However, Baziak had to withdraw from the tournament after breaking his thumb. This fight was viewed by more than six million people in Poland.[4]
Following this, he returned to M-1 Global and faced Borislav Iglev. Late in the first round, Baziak forced his opponent to submit, due to a rear naked choke.[5]
Two months later, Baziak appeared at another M-1 Challenge selection event - "M-1 Selection 2010 - Western Europe Round 3" - defeating Drazen Forgac via submission (punches) to progress further. However, Baziak would not compete in the next round due to an upcoming fight in Poland.
Baziak then appeared for the BOTE promotion in their second event in Poland. His opponent was the more experienced Dion Staring who was on a two-fight winning streak. Midway through the first round, Staring caught Baziak in a rear naked choke and forced the tapout, handing Baziak his second professional loss.[6]
